Project:

Vendome Knightsbridge, London
Blacksheep

(page 54 issue 11)

Blacksheep, of ‘Cuckoo Club’ fame - see ‘myspace’ issue 6 - was established in 2002 by designers and co-founders, Jo Sampson and Tim Mutton. Star-studded commissions swiftly followed from the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Hermes, Diageo and Voyage.
This Interior Design and architectural practice has recently completed a lavish bar and club in Knightsbridge called ‘Vendome’. the inspiration for which is best described by lead designer,Vicki Wilson:
“The concept behind this project was to try and make reference to the high end surroundings and clientele of Vendome’s location …. by tapping into recognised luxury items such as designer bags and luggage as our inspiration, we wanted to create an interior that suggested the quality, glamour and excitement you may feel when visiting the neighbouring shops”.
Striking interior visuals include the 6 metre-long, bespoke-designed bar in polished white stone with a patterned panel front inspired by a vintage handbag, then clad in glass; a bird of paradise patterned wallpaper by Osborne & Little adorning the angled wall behind the DJ Booth and the 4 feature columns; ostrich-leather trunk seating and ivory fabric banquettes; all reflected by the crystal wall-lights by Cameron Peters and Swarovski. A ‘du jour’ location without doubt.
