Blue Frog Acoustic Lounge & Studios (page
20 issue 12) Based in London and Mumbai, these 2 aspiring stars of architecture are making global headlines recently. With their adaptable fusion of international styles, commissions are rolling in from the leisure, retail, educational, office and cultural communities. As highlighted here, what was once a north-lit industrial warehouse within the old mill district in Mumbai, has been transformed into a breathtaking complex of sound recording studios and a state-of-the-art acoustic lounge with restaurant, bar and a live stage hosting sound and light show spectacles. The deep structure of the lounge at Blue Frog is composed of different sized circles approximating a horse-shoe configuration with mahogany panelled, cylindrical booths, seating 4-10 people, deliberately tiered to allow uninterrupted views of the stage. These cellular comfort zones are arranged around an open centre that can either double up as a potential 360 degree stage or accommodate standing room, bringing the audience closer to the main stage to create an intimate viewing experience. Blue Frog seems to offer the ultimate entertainment and acoustic experience with fluidity and intricacy of design, seemingly the mainstay of Serie’s original concept. To discover more, visit:
